Here's a link to someone else having the same problem, but they added their comment on a closed issue. Today we review Al Dente for the MacBook Pro, which is an app designed to help extend your MacBooks battery life as long as possible. List of all enabled/disabled settings in AlDente: All defaults.MacBook model: MacBook Pro (14-inch, 2021) - M1 Max.Sail mode, calibration, pausing and charging up if need be. Plus a little bit of control over it is also nice. I use aldente, My MacBook Pro stays pluged in almost all the time an it gives me peace of mind to know that the battery is only 70 charged. The computer's screen saver activates properly and the computer goes to sleep, even when locked. It never learned to charge my battery correctly. To get AlDente to work again, just reinstall AlDente completely and everything should work as expected. ![]() Computer does not activate screen saver or go to sleep AlDente Does Not Work After Updating MacOS Unfortunately, AlDente temporarily does not work after a macOS update for a few users. This is with the latest 1.14 release and when I quit the helper process via Activity Monitor, or the charge reaches the set limit, or the computer is not charging, the issue goes away. Navigate to Library/LaunchDaemons/ next, and remove .plist. I tried completely uninstalling the app following this, reinstalling and just trying it with the default settings (I don't have the pro mode and so impossible for me to even put "Disable sleep until charge limit" on). To ensure a complete removal, follow these steps: Go to finder and navigate to /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/ and delete the file. (Seems like "Disable sleep until charge limit" is on via a bug?). This only seems to happen when the battery has not yet reached the battery threshold set in AlDente. Unplug accessories: These include keyboards, mice, external HDs, printers, drives, USB hubs, and mobile devices. Boot up your Mac: Press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds. ![]() It seems the AlDente helper is stopping my computer from going to sleep or activating the screen saver, whether on the lock screen or not. Check power connections: Try unplugging and plugging your Mac back in. Great work, thanks! However I'm encountering a bug as of recently!
